Eyes closed, paying attention to all senses yet being distant from them, she had no sense of time. She could only focus on breathing. Sitting in front of the computer screen, inhale, exhale, sobbing uncontrollably she didn't even see images in her mind, inhale, exhale, it was just the feeling in her body, and around her body, another inhale, exhale, the feeling of… love? Breathe in, breathe out. Pause. Where was this coming from? What was this truly? Deep inhale, exhale. It felt like she hadn't breathed for centuries, every breath was absorbed instantly, in, out, like dry soil thirstily drinks water to later bring life. In and out. The sensation continued and she understood, yes, in, out, this is what it feels like to believe that she is loved. Breathe in, breathe out. Deeply, genuinely, and unconditionally loved. Now slowly let go of your focus on breathing yet continue to be aware of it and observe how your body breathes. How love is present in your life. How you are always loved, in every moment, regardless of any imperfections, grumpiness, stress, lacking words, unmet needs. You are loved.
