Aseriously stunning minimal synth treasure that builds from good togreat to fantastic to "holy shit!" by this EP's finale. Martin Rev,ADN' Ckrystall, and Dark Day would all be reasonable enough referencepoints here, but so too would be to cite some of the disco-proggy bitsof something like Georges Grunblatt. Or B.E.F. at their most slickywell oiled (Groove Thang, for example).

Thislargely astonishing minimal synth into experimental electroniccompilation was released on Steve Miro's Object Music label, withMiro's deadly Noyes Bros. group alongside Steve Solamar occupying theentirety of side B with the bleary brainwarping disjoint of "GoodQuestion", it's mutating queasy orbits of synthetic slurry held incheck (barely) by rinky-dink preset rhythmbox pitter patter. Solamar insolo mode also launches side A with the instrumental gem "Forewarned" apure slice of early Martin Rev style neon-pulsing minimal synth beauty.41 Degrees also score with an ingratiating slow boil of subtle extendedrepetitive post punk that carries on for around ten minutes and leavesroom for the albums only (slight) flaw, an insubstantial waft ofacoustic treacle from one Roger Blackburn thats easily overlooked on anotherwise solidly outstanding release.

Here's one of the rarest minimal synth gems.Copies are sold on Ebay from 400 to 700 US $! Amazingand simply weird record of synth-pop that sounds like a mix of FadGadget and Soft Cell but kinda lo-fi and dirty with a sullen AndyMcCluskey-type on vocals. He even mixes some rockabilly guitar kindalike Electronicat into one of the five perplexing electro pop cutshere. A shame this never got signed to a larger label, this 5-song EPwith a pressing of 500 with fewer circulated is the only known documentof this Winnipeg, Canada project from 1983 released on local (possiblytheir own) Classified Records.
