Thesecond Velvet Underground album is a noisy and feedback-driven forayinto the darker side of rock music. The lyrics focus on mostly drugs,sexual deviance, and violence and the music is simply nuts. The openingand closing tracks, "White Light/White Heat" and "Sister Ray" are twoof my favorite songs, the latter being a 17+ minute epic jam sessionthat I wish never ended.
This is easily my favorite VU record.

Thisis a rip of the rare acetate pressing of the Velvet Underground's firstalbum. The songs are previously unheard versions that were all but lostuntil now. You might have seen a copy of this pressing on eBayrecently. It sold for thousands of dollars and, if I remembercorrectly, is one of two known existing copies.
The soundquality is pretty awful, but there isn't any other way to hear theseversions, unless you're the lucky bastard that won that auction.

The Bomb Squad(I shouldn't have to even tell you who they are) definitely had theirshit on point when they dropped this back in 1989. Right off the bat,those horns (from T.S. Monk's Bon Bon Vie) pull you into this sound collage of hi-hats, drums, grunts, stabs, and then:

Chuck's voice dropped into the mix and so began a neo-political diatribe the likes of which I had never heard before. It was a life-changing experience along the same lines of hearing Mega Mixx IIby the 2 Live Crew a few months earlier. So before I start rambling onabout something else (thank you ADD), this is a collection of thetracks that were sampled to create Public Enemy's Welcome To The Terrordome. That Instant Funk track is mad classic and you can also hear it used on De La Soul's A Roller Skating Jam Named 'Saturdays' which is mad classic unto itself. Check it out and school yourself.
