chalaniska v roku 1996 nakupili staru techniku z dob starych black sabbath (do roku 75) a v studiu pred manazerom zahrali tuto 52 minutovu zalezitost.
povodne ho chceli samozrejme nejak vytocit ci co ale nakoniec im to zozral aj s topankami.
vyvinulo sa z toho cd ktore vydali rozdelene na jednotlive songy o tri roky neskor.
preco stoji za to?
uplne nadherny surovy brutalny drsny raw sound podladenych gitar ktore doplnaju tazke bicie a tiahly vykricany vokal spevaka spolocne s uplne autentickym zvukom black sabbath su zarukou priam zazitku.
taketo albumy sa nedeju casto.

paradna pocuvatelna zmeska vhodna na vsetky prilezitosti :) !!!!

This is an album that was almost never to be, but ended as one of thosefew records that are instantly established not only as undergroundclassics but as genre-defining milestones. When these Californian doommetallers took the opportunity of a '90s major-label deal with Londonrecords, they blew the advance on 70ies vintage amplification equipmentand loads of the highest quality grass and returned to the label with amassive 65 minutes track dedicated to dope smoking. Imagine thereaction of the freaked out corporate manager upon first listen… thetape was immediately returned and demanded to be reworked into a seriesof songs. SLEEP did nothing about it and a legal battle ensued,resulting in the shelving of the album as unmarketable.
Musically "Jerusalem" is the definitive doom metal track, nothing morethan a monolithic masterpiece, sloooooow to the verge of monotonousrepetition. Matt Pike tuned down his guitar some scales lower thanBLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi, to get that unrivalled sonic wall-of-sludgemood and Al Cisneros's massive bass drone and wasted vocal growl toppedeverything, conducting in a narcoleptic listening experience. ChrisHakius pounds the skins at a funeral pace adding a torturous lethargicrepetition to the overall atmosphere of hypnosis. Huge stacks of Orangeamplification and Green loudspeakers are responsible for all thatthick, dense, ultra-lysergic trance of an album. Devoid of any heavymetal clichés other than sheer heaviness, "Jerusalem" is definitely NOTrecommended to the average metal fan. Crank it on the highst volumeyour speakers can bear, light up the bong and let the smoke slowlyinhale you to the lower end of the riff-filled land. "Stoner caravanfrom deep space arrives"
PS. 1 # Audio tapes soon found their ways intothe underground and a privately issued bootlegged (approved by theband) CD appeared in 1996. The album was then licensed to "MusicCartel", that issued a 6 part sliced edition of it in 1997 and then"Tee Pee", which re-entitled the original rough version of a band as"Dopesmoker", adding the extra track "Sonic Titan" for the definitive2003 extended CD edition. This is the privately issued rough firstversion of the track, as it was first introduced to London Records andissued in the private edition.
