The government-approved "First realization project", enabled the first 190 municipalities to implement preventive measures in the most flood-damaged parts of the country. These communities were joined, after September 7, 2011, by more than 300 villages. It happened when the government of Iveta Radičová approved the "Second implementation project "of their revitalization program.
The end of the calendar year is a good time to summarize this short period. So far in Slovakia, more than eighty thousand water retention elements have been constructed, creating the work opportunity for more than ten thousand people. The vast majority (70%) of them were previously long term unemployed. In addition, they perform assigned work in the immediate vicinity of their homes and are beneficial not only to government projects, but especially for their community, families, and not least to themselves - in a long time. The society allows them to do something in its favor, and gives space for their self-realization.
Of course, as expected, the project of this magnitude does not leave his ill-wishers at rest, who, in this context, specifically grow myths about abuse of taxpayer funds. The following extensive photo documentation from the first stages of the program is to make it clear to everyone, how were the public money "misused" during the days of Iveta Radičová's government.
