“The Spectacle of Ravishing Our Maidens” is a splendorous slab ofdemoralization & filth that will bruise & bring out the worstin everyone. This cassette is pure nasty. The sounds herein leave muchto the imagination of terror sex & bloody sleaze. This ispornography’s sarcophagus.

Joseph Roemer & Rodger Stellanever receive the credit they deserve for their brand of autoeroticsound asphyxiations. I had the great pleasure of witnessing Macrnymphalive in 2006 where Dominick Fernow joined them on stage to deliver adevastating assault on ALL senses. Also on stage were two females,scantily clad in their best leather & black hosiery. Said womenroamed the stage, blank stares amongst the chaos of Mr. Roemer’sfeedback & Fernow’s no-input mixer squeals. At times these lovelyladies would make-out, other times Joseph would grope them. After theperformance I overheard many complaining that the presentation was‘sexist’ & ‘misogynistic.’ Fuck that, you came to a noise show.What Macronympha does is add a sensory blast of erotica to thepandemonium of sound, hence why their work devastates ALL senses. Thisis what has always separated Macronympha from the pack & charred apathway for artists like Prurient, Bloodyminded, The Rita, etc…

Thisis an excellent document from Macronympha, which will make yourspeakers bleed. The opening track, ‘Golden Haired Thrash Fuck’ is painas pleasure devastation. It bludgeons the listener for almost fourminutes then lets up w/ a sordid medieval harpsichord sample, but onlyfor a moment. The torture continues & gets slippery & corrosiveuntil again the keyboard segment returns from w/in the piece then cutsoff abruptly to return to the unsavory meltdown. Another brillianttrack is ‘Caesonius Ejaculax.’ The piece is at times percussive,circulatory & fucking sinister. These sounds spill & puff likeflesh bound by leather & zip tie ornaments.

I truly believethat if Michael Hutchence had a copy of this cassette he might still bealive today. Maniacs unite! Replace your tourniquets w/ “The Spectacleof Ravishing Our Maidens.” File under terror sex & asphyxiophilia.

Jazkamer - Metal Music Machine

Lasse Marhaug and John Hegre (aka Jazzkammer)have been together for the best part of a decade, generating improvisedelectronic noise, minimalist droning and so on whenever theopportunity's arisen. Ananonymous reader had posted this in the comment section & sinceI've fallen in love w/ it as of late I thought it best to post it.Thanks again dear stranger, the fifteen minutes contained w/in "Let'sPlay Wild Like Wildcats Do" has transcended me beyond this blue orb& to a blissful void where I am free to float. "Let's Play WildLike Wildcats Do" is yet another amazing work from our man & 2007MVP C. Spencer Yeh. "Let's Play Wild Like Wildcats Do" consists of twotracks approximating fifteen minutes that are equal parts nihilisticpsych & drone hypnosis. "Mes Soldats Stupides (Demo)" will surpriseeven the most die hard Burning Star Core fans w/ it's kraut rock strut& buoyant bass thump. C. Spencer Yeh keeps the piece dense w/ hiscirculatory violin high rises, which never become static as theyconstantly fluff & mutate. "Clouds in My Coffee" is much morereserved than it's counterpart. The piece is a rainbow of lush tonesthat squeeze against each other & bleed wondrous intricacies thatkeep the track interesting & fluent. "Let's Play Wild Like WildcatsDo" is such a surprising masterwork, many will hope that futurereleases be in a similar vein, but I feel this serves better as anaside in Yeh's expansive catalog. Recommended.
