Words

Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.

We are all different and there is no measure applicable to all of us. But there is something we can use – our character, our values, and our priorities. Those are the things I find uncountable when it comes to counting but at the same time those are the things widening gaps between us. And gaps can sometimes grow as big as a divorce, loneliness, depression, death, war…and a man is all alone here among people. Then come words. World of words that sadly float in the air because they are confused with their own identities, they are losing their meaning, they become loners and suffer in every match they are part of. Words are losing their importance and without the meaning they die hungrily with the sound. Some words lose their home before they are uttered and some do not have to be said to be heard. The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good. Or what one does when he is absolutely free to choose. What price does one have to pay to survive while being their true self? It seems to be very expensive for many people. And many spend their means for other things first so they never have anything left for "paying the price" of being themselves...So who are we living with if not with people who are being themselves? How do we know who are we talking to, who are we looking at...Why do people always want to look different from what they are? They do not like themselves the way they are? So how could others like them? Should we like them after they change from being themselves? So who are we really fond of? Is it just the image in our mind? What does it feel like when somebody is liked for something he is not? Can he actually feel the affection? Does it get as far as their heart? Does that person feel alive? How can they be happy for being liked for something they are not? Maybe they don't care if they are liked... Why do people always feel they have to say something? Why are we so far from being content? Will we ever smile because things are the way they are? Can our minds and hearts ever live in honest harmony? Can the ego pushing us forward be naturally hungry and not greedy? Can we ever be satisfied „just like that“? Is there a chance we will take only what we need and not more? If answers to these questions were condition of peace in my mind, will I ever smile contently „just like that“? Why is it we ask so many questions. Are we naturally so "impossible"? Or only you and me and her and him and the Little Prince from all of us? I wish I did not have the urge to ask questions. I wish I could just freely look around and see, hear, feel and be myself and I wish people did not have that strained urge to protest, disagree and be on the different side just for not being on the same one. Just to be "there" and not "here"” despite of leaving themselves behind... P.S. I´m a little nervous to meet you all...so I slip into English sometimes...That´s what I do for a living...slipping and English...
